This weekend our Barbra Streisand rose bud decided to show it’s lovely face. At first we were a tad worried that we had planted the Chrysler Imperial in the wrong spot because it opened a very bright pink. As you can see it is not that way any longer. You can definitely still see a hint of the pink around the edges of the petals. Of course even better than the fact that it finally opened is that there are about 4 other buds on the bush. If we are lucky maybe more than one will open next time.
I must say that I never expected to be so exctied about seeing all of the new growth in our new garden. Every day I am happy to see that the roses that I swore that I killed by improper planting are blooming despite me. LOL. I can’t wait to get home to see how they look today.
On the down side it’s looks like the Blue Girl is definately going to need a bit more tender loving care. She had a lovely bloom starting on Sunday and then with all of the rain and wind it looks like she has had enough. = (
Craig and I have been spending the last few weekends on the first of many projects that we hope to complete this year. We knew when we moved into the house that we would not be happy without any landscaping for too long and as soon as our neighbors started working on their yards we were motivated to began the process. I know that this will be rather boring for most of you, but I thought it would be nice to write out the phases of the project. If you’d rather just see the photos you can find them in the photo gallery. Now on to the project!
I am Karen, the author of this blog and the wife of the most wonderful man alive, Craig. We currently reside in a small but growing suburb in Illinois. I enjoy creating, designing and spending time with family and friends.
