Are we really doing this?

When we purchased our current house Craig had a 5 year plan to sell the house and get that house that we would live in until we retired. You know that house that our kids would grow up in if we had any, well it seems that the time has come to put the plan in action. Craig actually already has the ball rolling, he contacted one of our neighbors who just so happens to be a real estate agent and seems to have a good rate of success selling houses in our area. After talking to her about the market he felt more confident about being able to sell and decided to call our mortgage broker to make sure that things would be good on that end as well and we now have an approval letter from them, so all we need to do now is get the house ready to put on the market, sell it, and of course find our dream home.

In order to get the house ready to put on the market we spent some time putting fresh paint on the bedrooms and the upstairs bathroom. We still need to do the stairway from upstairs to the main floor as well as the basement, but we figured that this might be a job more suited for somebody that paints for a living since our ladder wouldn’t be able to reach the higher parts of the stairways. Not to mention the whole thing of being too lazy to do it. We also wanted to get the carpeting reconditioned. Luckily Kirk “knows a guy”, well actually a few that would be able to help us out. If everything goes well the carpet will be done this weekend and the painting will be done at the beginning of the week. It’s almost scary how fast things are moving. I just hope that the house sells in a good amount of time. I’d hate to have it on the market forever without any interest in it. Weird to think that we could be celebrating summer in a new home.
