One potato, two potato, hot potato

Even after 37 years of being on this earth I am still too dang stupid to remember that my skin and the sun just do not get along. After a few minutes at Arlington Race track I knew that the day was going to end badly and not only because we would probably lose, that is always a given. By the 6th race I could already feel the tingling pain of my sunburn, but I stuck it out until the end of the 8th race. For some reason I thought that drinking a couple of Strawberry Daquiris would make the pain go away, but that didn’t happen just made my legs feel like mush. I am such a light weight when it comes to alcohol. Boy after reading that back it almost sounds like I had a bad time, and that is so not true. We had a great time! I wasn’t as lucky as Craig was on picking horses, but it was fun none the less. The bad time didn’t come until we got back to the apartment and I needed to find the lotion. It took 10 minutes to find the box it was packed in.. :sad_wp:

On our trip out to the house we were very excited to find out that there has been a bunch of progress. The kitchen has cabinets and the flooring is done. The 2nd bath has flooring, cabinets and countertops. The master bath still needs to have the ceramic tile finished around the tub, but has cabinets and countertops. The laundry room has flooring, but no cabinets. We were also excited to see that the doors were all in and waiting to be installed. Oh and the siding and trim were in the garage as well. I have a few photos up in the gallery under flooring.

It’s Official

We received a certified letter from Cambridge Homes letting us know that our new home will be completed on August 27th. Although we already knew that the closing was going to be on August 30th it’s nice to have the official notice. We are hoping that things at work will keep us so busy this next couple of months that the days until we move into our new home will just melt away, of course it could also mean more stress.

We took our usual trip to the house this weekend we were a bit sad to see that it didn’t seem like a lot had happened since our last visit. We were really thinking that they would have painted, but all that had been done was the final coat of mud of the walls. There were however, 16 5 gallon buckets of paint in the garage along with all of the light fixtures for the house. Unfortunately after looking at the build schedule the paint and lighting isn’t something that will happen soon. I believe the next things to be done will be the siding and the gutter work. Can’t wait until this weekend to see what has been done.

On a side note; I always start writing a post thinking that I will have something profound to say, but alas I didn’t again. Good thing the blog isn’t called Deep Thoughts. Oh well.
