Barbra has arrived

// June 23rd, 2008 // No Comments » // Gardening, Roses

This weekend our Barbra Streisand rose bud decided to show it’s lovely face. At first we were a tad worried that we had planted the Chrysler Imperial in the wrong spot because it opened a very bright pink. As you can see it is not that way any longer. You can definitely still see a hint of the pink around the edges of the petals. Of course even better than the fact that it finally opened is that there are about 4 other buds on the bush. If we are lucky maybe more than one will open next time.

Another opening

When we got home from work yesterday we were welcomed by another opened rose. I am really surprised by the size of the roses, I guess I don’t recall how big they can get, but I love the color. Now I just need to get Mom to show me how to trim them properly.

Aww.. so pretty

I must say that I never expected to be so exctied about seeing all of the new growth in our new garden. Every day I am happy to see that the roses that I swore that I killed by improper planting are blooming despite me. LOL. I can’t wait to get home to see how they look today.

On the down side it’s looks like the Blue Girl is definately going to need a bit more tender loving care. She had a lovely bloom starting on Sunday and then with all of the rain and wind it looks like she has had enough. = (
